Over the last 13 years Robert Cane Architect has provided design services for District Council 37, the 120,000-member municipal employees union, in its administrative and member services headquarters. Within this 10-story building of approximately 250,000 sq. ft. Robert Cane has been involved in alterations affecting over 40% of the facility, including the design of private offices and open-plan work areas, conference and meeting rooms, computer classrooms, phone bank rooms, libraries and specialized spaces such as an audiology clinic and a printing shop. In addition, the firm has worked on ‘satellite’ dental and podiatry clinics operated by the union.
